The success of one of GMA 7’s latest installation “Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang” featuring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes was undeniable in totality. Aside from getting high ratings, the peoples’ overwhelming support for this show was enough to say that even in a short span of time; the drama was attached to peoples’ hearts. So the approaching ending of the show gave sadness to both the casts and the fans especially for Marian Rivera. But for every closing of a door, a new one opens.

Formally announced on April 23, 2009 in front of the press and some GMA 7 executives, Marian Rivera will be the newest star to take and play the role of Filipino’s greatest woman superhero ever-Darna (previously played by Angel Locsin). The announcement came as a surprise even for Marian as she has never thought and never expected that such a big role will be hers to play. It made her promise to ready herself for his big break as Kapuso Star.
